HONG KONG 1995 / CINEMA ROOM – INT / NIGHT

Outside, the rain is pouring on the English colony. I can’t take my eyes off the end credits. I am still in an emotional state, the ending has shaken me. I have a hard time leaving the cinema. An emotional and visual shock. Leon by Luc Besson has inspired me to make movies. I am 15 years old. As a young Belgian expatriate, I am just starting to discover Johnnie To, Hollywood movies… unfortunately I need to return to Europe.

UNIVERSITY OF LEUVEN 2003 – EXT / NIGHT

10 years later. With my Master in Business Engineering in hand, I walk, thoughtful, in the gloomy streets of the university’s city. It is raining. I have put my passion for movies aside. I get into the working life: work, work, work.

APARTMENT BRUSSELS 2009 – INT / NIGHT

I suddenly wake up, a panic attack. Six years of working for multinationals, useless meetings, laughable business trips, I am suffocating.

Crime fictions, thrillers, Melville’s atmospheres are becoming recurrent dreams. It’s over. I quit my daily job for a fresh start: initially producer, than director of ads, short films, music videos…

My keywords: Efficiency, storytelling, dark atmospheres with, sometimes, a hint of humor but… the business world is never far away. A financial thriller is in development.
